Just wanted to share some info with those on this site that think the "Green: JDM belts" Takata makes are made in Japan........no they are made right here in the USA.
Cheraw, South Carolina.......30 miles south of Rockingham, NC. I saw the plant while traveling for work...they are going to be making them in Mexico in a year or so, since they are moving production. So no, they are not real JDM........The main office is in the motherland, but not the manufacturing. Thanks for your time.

Highland began in 1940 as part of an R&D program to develop specialty fabrics for industrial applications. This effort flourished leading to the creation of a successful industrial fabrics business.
In 1988 the Takata Corporation purchased the business and it was renamed Highland Industries, Inc. Highland is headquartered in Greensboro, NC and operates two manufacturing plants.

Actually...he is right.
I have been INSIDE the plant for work (not just driving by), and they control more than 40% of the market for airbag covers, factory seat belts, and other restraint systems. I did in fact see a couple of those ricey *** 4pt stunna belts in my visit in regards to a restraint system we were working on for honda...
If anyone cares.

The company I work for does testing for Takata....we just got in some new rails that take all types of measurements and uses its caculations to deploy airbags certain ways. They can tell the weight of the occupant, speed, and wheather the vehicle is on the ground, in the air or in a roll. Kinda cool chit!
