Kakimoto Racing exhuast w/ 22mm sway bar... rub or no?
Hi, I have a 01 LS and I'm thinking about getting the 70mm Kakimoto Racing exhuast. I read that LS and type r have the length and the pipping will fit. Anyone can verify this. Also, I have an itr 22mm rear sway bar and I'm afraid that the 70mm (2.75in) will rub against it. Any of you itr have this problem??
AFAIK, the Kakimoto exhaust is only in JDM length so if you want to make it work with your LS, you'll either have to get a JDM sized cat or shorten the b-pipe to work with your stock cat. As far as fitment goes, I've had no problems with it. In fact, it's probably the best fitting exhaust I've put on the car thus far.
mine clears my 22 mm sway bar no problems

If you are running a JDM length header, you cat will need to be 12" exactly to fit. That is the length of the test pipe that I am using between my DC Sports JDM style header and my Kakimoto.

Supposedly the shroud is to be a heat shield. Don't know how effective it really is and if it's really needed at all. Thinking about taking mine off. Not a big fan of the huge exhaust tip either
it could be their way to prevent the bumper from melting if there were fitment problems.. as for fitment problems i'm not sure why but my exhaust hangs too low and off to the side, the flange in the bpipe hits the frame.... i couldn't even find a hangar to bend that would fix (or even create) that problem (something was done a while back to fit in a short shifter)
anyways, i'm off to a stock type of exhaust, i'm sick of the fat tip

USDM ITR and JDM ITR have difference exhaust length because the JDM ITR have shorter cat.
