Hey guys, what is the best method to determine exactly where smoke is coming from under the hood?

Tonight after i changed my oil I started up the car and let it idle for a bit. The oil rings in my turbo are worn out so I've always had a little smoke coming out of the exhaust since my oil drain isn't exactly ideal. Anyway, it was getting dark and I could see smoke reflecting in front of my headlights so I popped the hood to check it out. There was enough smoke coming up that the turbo was sucking it in when I would rev it a little and I could actually see it blowing back out of my bov when I let off.

The smoke seems to be coming from around the turbo/manifold area but I can't tell exactly where. I did a compression check last week and it came out to 185 in all cylinders. I know thats a little low but the car has 110k miles on it so I wasnt too worried. Leak down test came out ok, no problems there. I took the dipstick out and it didn't seem to be smoking out of there at all. It's not coming out of the valve cover. Of course, when it's night and you shine a light straight down on the motor, it's kind of hard to see the smoke at all.

I'm think it's coming from the turbo area (at least thats where the majority of the smoke seems to be) but I can't find the exact spot for the life of me. Do you guys have any ideas or tricks that might help me pinpoint the location?

what does it smell like??? is it oil or what??? i may be oil burning off....
