What fluids do all you recommend?
I just got a 98 spec JDM ITR motor (low milage) with lsd and 4.78fd along with everything else. I was wondering what motor oil, tranny oil, etc you all recommend?

If it is under warranty (although I'm guessing it isn't) then stick with your genuine Honda fluids - I have been told by Honda that they are very picky about this.

Anyone ever seen or heard of or used Gear oil for the ITR tranny 75w-90
Is this like SUPER THICK or something? I was just reading in one of my Mags and there was an article that recommend this weight gear oil Just wondering

Gear oil is rated using a different scale from motor oil. 75W90 viscosity gear oil is actually similar in viscosity to your everyday 10W40 motor oil. Redline MT-90 is 75W90. Redline MTL is 70W80 gear oil, which is similar to viscosity to your 10W30 motor oil.
Mobil 1 or castrol (I'd say castrol burns less) 10w or 5w30. I'd use 5w30 then if it burns too much go with 10w30. For brake fluid go with Motul 5.1 and for the Tranny fluid go with Honda MTF or mobil 1 tranny fluid
my local honda dealer refuses to replace transmission fluid with MTF.
they will only use motor oil. I got into an argment with them service manager and evenetually called honda corporate about it and they didnt care.
I had to ask for like 3 weeks just for them to get some in.
the dealership is hondawest in indianapolis. I would not recommend going there for service.
