What tire pressure do you set your kumho 712's at?
Just wondering. Ihave had no luck with these crappy 712's hookin up on the track. They give me 2.4 60' times. ive had pressure anywhere between 25-30psi. What do you guys have then at?
i have the ecsta supra's and yes they are not the greatest but i still can hit 2.3 60ft in my LS. Ive only been to the track once with them so i may be able to hit 2.2. I usually set tire pressure to 22 in front and 35 in rear. What rpm do you launch at?
I dont know what i launch at cause im the second stager. As soon as i get to the staging lights on, the countdown begins. SO i have random launches. Another thing, I dun think i know how to launch in the first place. -=o(
when i ran my 711s which isnt the same tire but some idea, i had them at 40 psi and they were gripping good, trying putting in more than 30

lmao, try droping them down to about 18 20 lbs up front leave the rears alone
normal streets i run my 712's at 34 all around..

Increasing the air pressure makes the sidewalls stiffer (good for autox, bad for launching) and makes the contact patch narrower.
Decreasing the pressure makes the contact patch wider, as well as increases the total contact patch area. The sidewalls will be softer which helps the tires hook up (notice how drag cars have "wrinkle" slicks with extremely soft sidewalls).
For everyday use you should run the tires at the factory recommended cold pressure settings, regardless of tire size.

I have 712's in the stock tire size. At the track I had the tire pressure set at 22psi and left the back alone. I couldn't get better than a 2.3 in those damn tires trying different launch points. On the street - its set at the factory specs for maximum treadwear and mpg.
