lowering the ride
I have 18 inch rims and was wondering how low I should lower my car? I dont want the tires to be rubbing when i go over speed bumps or when i have a lot of people in my car. Thanks.
I suggest you don't lower your car more than 2 inches then. You can get spring/shock combos to work very well or you can purchase coil-overs that will allow you to adjust the ride height at any given time with a couple of turns of the coil-over collar.
It all depends on your budget. But to be honest, I've tried all kinds of different suspension setups, and you can't really beat a coilover kit. As long as you get a good quality streetable coilover I doubt you'll be dissapointed. I have an Apexi W/S coilover kit and I find it perfect
I lowered my 93 accord ex - 1.75(f) and 1.5(r) (H&R Sport) with 225/35/18 and I rubbed with ANYONE(100lbs+) in the back seat on bumps or hard turns... and I had my fenders rolled!! I still need camber kits for the front(-2.5 deg)!!If you get coilovers, make sure you get camber kits and align you car every couple of months or you'll more than likely **** away your tires!
