HELP! I over charged my AC! Now my car is running funny...
It's been about 100 degrees here in Dallas, TX and my AC was not working well, so I put a can of r134 into the low pressure side the way you are supposed to. My car began to sputter and so I removed it and let the car run.
It finally almost kept dying, so I drove it arround, forcing it to "blow off" a bunch of the r134 from somewhere around the compressor.
Now my car feels like the AC is constanctly cutting on and off while I am driving it.
How do I release the rest of the pressure? I my compressor a gonner?
Any help is appreciated.

press the high side...theres a small little thing in there like a tire thing.. press it and out goes the freon.. be very very very gentle tho...if you press it and it shoots out fast you pressed it too hard
Is anyone going to ask what year his car is to ascertain as to whether or not it is supposed to take r134 or r12? If it's r12, you should not put as much r134 in there as the manual calls for. It will cause your compressor to sieze...I know this from experience, twice. (it was the dealer both time, too!)

Yup, if you put some R134 and your car has R12 (usually cars older than 95) it won't mix. Make sure you put the right kind of freon in. Does the a/c clutch kick in when you turn on the a/c?
