Yes, I searched, but I got a few contradicting answers. I know I will need to convert to MPFI, but can I use my stock cable trans. with this motor even though it came with a hydrolic transmission? I won't need new mounts, I'll need the P28 ecu, my crx axles will work... all of that sound correct? Thanks for your help.

 

no need for new mounts.
the cable tranny will bolt up to the D16Z6.
it would be easier just to use the PM6 ecu and use something to activate the VTEC.

 

i've got a d16z6 in my 91 dx hatch. your cable tranny will work with no mods. i used a 89 si ecu and dizzy, also a fields vtec controller. the dizzy is a little tricky, you have to open up one of the holes a little to make it fit. i also got a friend (honda mechanic) to wire up the controller and the mpfi. that was the tough part. my car runs great. good luck!

 

If you use the P28 you will need an OBD0-OBD1 ecu harness adapter.
