Rear Seat Removal Regrets?
Have any of you that have removed your rear seats regretted it? Im getting ready to do it, and just wanted to make sure there werent any negatives. Im getting ready to put in an io port roll bar, so rear seating isnt an issue.

i've had mine out for bout a year now....got 2 racing buckets up front with 4 pt. weapon R harnesses...and i've got no regrets about it. In just a few months i'll be fabing up a custom roll bar for the back...and then there's no turning back!
Ohh well, I already did it. Easy as pie. Considering I can either get 475 for the whole set of leathers or 275 for just the fronts, its just retarded to not sell them all.

Thats what I thought. Theres a guy runnin around town with Weapon R seats and harnessed mounted to the seat bracket.
The rear seats weigh nothing, the bench especially, its foam and leather. The fronts are heavier, like 25-30lbs each. There is no reason in taking out the rears for weight reduction.

Removing the rear seat in my car was the best thing I ever did.
Everyone always wanted a ride in my car and it sucked to ride 3 deep or more.
Hell I even rode up to a SOLO2 even with 5 people in my car one day. lol

I wouldn't even recommend driving with a 4pt harness on the street nor having one without adequate roll over protection.

Do you not know anything about instally a harness correctly? I mean just for your safety you really dont need to run one without a roll bar.
Would you like to be crushed by your own car, just because you couldn't duck?
Or your spine snapped b/c you got in a head on b/c, and you have the shoulder harness installed at the incorrect angle?
Doesnt sound like a good way to go out.

Weight info for rear of car:
Rear Hatch Cover (sits behind rear seats and folds up)---6lbs
Rear Bottom Seat---------------------------------------------8lbs
Rear Upper Seats---------------------------------------------20lbs
Rear Carpet and Wood Underneath-------------------------10lbs
My car did not come with a spare or jack so I don't know those weights.
All items were weighed using my bathroom scale calibrated with a 45lbs dumbell!

i totally understand the functionality and the reasoning for you guys not wanting a 4pt harness...but, for right now, it doesn't bother me. I've got a cage being made pretty soon...and if i were to roll it over and crush my spine..i guess that's life. I don't wanna live forever. it may not be the smartest thing, but i'll deal with it
What theyre saying is its unsafe, which it is. If you dont like the "look" and want to risk it, go ahead. A harness should be used with a rollbar, thats the point.
I dont regret pulling mine out...now I have an excuse not to drive or pack people in my car. You cant really regret it...it only takes 10 minutes to pop them back in

Well, I took em out. No regrets at all. I didnt hear any more road noise at all. I think it looks better too. I was also able to hide my amps now.
I plan on getting a piece of wood to set under the amps, just incase it decides to spark up, it will help keep them away from the tank.

Good idea for placement of amps!!! If only my PPI was not 24" long!!! I am still trying to figure out how to mount my equipment!
