Default hail damage - need new hood - questions

well, i have about a hundred or so little dents from the nasty hailstorm the other day... and now, i'm wondering .. what should i replace it with.

oem honda/acura or carbon fiber (oem style)

...and questions about the carbon fiber... how does it handle during the winter? (or does it?) do they usually just bolt on in the same way the oem hood does?

some images .... blah.

since your car is black, might as well get an oem style cf hood. its probably cheaper anyway.

Ugh, how could you watch that! It all depends on what you are looking for. If you like the style/look, go for it. If you like sleeper/cleaner look, go OEM. As far as bolting up and quality, just stick with quality parts and you wont have any problems. Vis Racing makes nice CF hoods. They bolt up the same as OEM hoods, but you may need hood pins (not the ones that stick out of the hood) to keep in secure.

are there currently any companies that make 100% CF Hoods for our cars yet?

nah. i wasn't even aware that it was hailing.. til the power went out. a tornado was in the neighborhood. i wasn't going to run out into that.... seriously, people's homes are destroyed. my baby has dents. kinda makes it seem trivial. but regardless. back to the topic.

carbon fiber hood is what i'm gonna do. i want to get as close to oem as possible.

hail sux... ive only seen it a few times here in so cal.. good thing that was back when I didnt own a car.. let alone able to drive.. anyhow sorry to hear that about your car..

I have yet to see a cf hood exactly replicated to our oem hoods.. One thing that bugs the hell out of me is the unusually large gap on the sides of the hood and im seeing a lot of uneven fitting hoods.. so until they get those things straightend out ill be sporting oem

if you park it outside, you might want to consider getting a car cover or something.
