Default heat wrapping entire exaust....

i have gotten good results in the past by wrapping it fronm the muffler all the way to engine

what do you think? i know it will decrease the life of the pipes but im sure i gained significant torque!

comments please

Until I see a dyno showing significant gains, I don't think its worth it.

I always thought header wrap was to reduce engine bay temperatures and not under car temperatures.

lol! well, for the record i got great gains from it, i had to turn DOWN the idle as the gases just flew out! i pressed the gas and there was no hesitation! this was a few years ago though.... idid headers and entire exaust, also coated it with high temp paint....

it wouldn't hurt performance and that's for sure, but it's too costly to do.
WRC cars are coated with ceramic all the way till the gasses leave the exhaust system, so if they do it and they decide that the LIL extra weight is worth then i guess soo, remember WRC cars are boosted, so i'm not sure if it'll work on a NA engine, altough the hottest the exhaust gases are the faster they travel, or something like that, can somebody care to elaborate on this?

cost alot?! hell no!
wrap is cheap and i did everything with one (i paid jamaican $2800, less than 50 bucks) and the REASON why you feel gains is this...

i have a cheap crush bent exaust, by wrapping it the gases stay MUCH hotter there fore leave the engine quicker! im telling you im planning to get mad gains the next time i do it!

peace
