Default obd0 to obd2 conversion, easy?

I have a friend that has done this conversion with a whole obd2 harness and he claims that all you need is the motor harness from the obd2 car and the computer. Keep the existing obd0 interior harness and run like a few wires to it for power and such, is this true. His car runs pretty well by the way and he has a 98 SOHC VTEC running a 98 ecu and all...

An OBDII conversion is going to require a plug change like an OBDI conversion. But you will also have to add wires for additional sensors such as a second oxygen sensor. Also, later OBDII cars use a crankshaft speed fluctuation sensor and fuel tank pressure sensor. I am not sure what the cutoff year is. But it is either 1998 or 1999.

The Y8 does not have dual stage VTEC, and if the OBD1 dizzy fits the head (Im almost sure it does) then go OBD1.... OBD2 sucks... there is a reason most people convert from OBD2 to OBD1.

True obd2 is a less desirable program that obd1, but if you need it for smog, I can easily wire it up for you. I have done MANY obd0-2a/b installs in the past. http://www.rywire.com for more info, and give us a call on the phone number.

I have a 99 civic si with a b20 swap that i just totaled! I also just bought a 89 crx si that i would love to swap the b20 into. I know i need conversion mounts, shift linkages, and a conversion actuator from cable to hydrolic... i'm just confused on how to wire it up. i have the harness and ecu but what do i need to wire it all up so it works. Every thing i have is obd2 and the crx is obd0.. Ive seen the obd0 to obd2 conversion harness but not sure if thats all i need?????
