Default A NOTE OF WARNING: SO CAL

i didnt know exactly where to post this, but move it if theres a more suitable place.thanx

when you take your car to a shop for some mechanical work, make sure the shop knows who you are and make you know who they are. i took my car to autolink motorworks for a tranny swap almost a year ago and i thought they did pretty good. but my clutch had gone bad too soon, i took it to a mechanic and he said whoever did the swap, did a sloppy *** job. there was a bolt that grinded the hell out of my new clutch that autolink recommended i put in. the mechanic who fixed my clutch said that there was a bolt that was not in properly. so im thinkin in my head, "man, those ****** bastard racing shops wont pay too much attention to your car unless they know you. and i think the people who defend these shops go there alot and know the people really well. what about the people like me? who really have no hookups, but we go to those shops because those people say they're great. bull ****, autolink is did not do the great job that i expected and paid for, but this is just a note of warning for you guys. just be careful who take your car to. autolink i just needed to vent and let you guys know whats up

Have you reported them to http://www.bbb.org/ ? That bureau is designed to protect consumers from things like that. Did you have a warranty on their installs? Some places offer a warranty on their work, maybe not on the product, but at least on their work. Have you contacted them to try and resolve this issue? You should. you might get something out of it

yup, that happens. people on this board or on any are gonna say their shop is the best because the way they treat them it reallly is. i used to have this one shop i used to go to in city of industry until they closed. but, i would think autolink would do a good job. go to pit crew.

you know what.. I totally agree with you... Its sad to see that most shops wouldn't give a crap about your car unless you were a frequent customer or a friend of the owner and such... its hard to find a good reliable shop..even though I happen to live in so. cali

my experience with autolink was lukewarm.. they gave me excellent service and didn't bullshit around with my order...

the only problem I ran into was that my bill came up to 300 dollars... when I went to the shop to pay it off.. the guy told me I only owned 200 dollars... I told him to check and double check and he kept telling me I only owed 200 dollars...I added everything up and sure enough.. I owed them 300 but the guy kept arguing telling me I only owed 200...I then asked to speak to the owner of the shop and he said he was the owner.. In the end.. he said and I quote "Look why would you pay more for something.. if you want to pay me 300 go ahead.. I'll pay the parts off and pocket 100 bucks...."

I was like ok fine...heres 200 but I know I owe 300...

sure enough... 5 days later I get a call from some girl from autolink telling me that I had a remaining balance of 100 and I should pay it back right now...

I'm not sure if it was some accounting problem or such.. but I think they could have handled my situation in a far better manner

it is as if walking into McDonald's..buying a McValue fries for 1 dollar..then the manager of Mcdonald's tells you that your only owe .50 cents... then 5 days later getting a call from the manager telling you that you still owe them .50 cents...whats up with that

maybe you kept telling them that u owe 300, so a couple days later, they got greedy and said, u know what, lets jack that fool and ask that idiot for that 100 dollars.

after all, he did say he owe us 300, when we said he only owe is 200.

not in my case, it took them over 2 weeks to get my tranny swap done, and when they did work on it, it seemed like they just ****** crapped it together. and some of their employees there , with their attitudes, dont even give a **** about customer satisfaction.

trust me.. I owed them 300.. and I am an honest person.. I don't bullshit around.. Im not one to rip a company off..especially one that I planned on going back too...

it was their mistake.. I tried to correct it but they simply wouldn't allow it until they sat on their asses for a few days before they realized that wait a minute..this guy really does owe us another 100..
