Default Dyno Time Results

Suggestions and Input would greatly be aprreciated!!!

I'm satisfied with the reults so far But I know there's lots of power untapped yet!!!

Air/Fuel Ratio

Horsepower

Horsepower/Torque

The setup:

Toda Spec B Cams
Toda Cam Gears
Fuel Pressure Regulator
Mugen 4-1 JDM Spec Header
Mugen Thermostat
ECU from God
Apexi VAFC
Test pipe
5Zigen Exhaust

Settings

50psi Fuel Pressure
Apexi VAFC made it way rich around 4000rpms and 6500-7000rpms
Intake Cam advanced 6-7 degrees
Exhaust Cam at 0

3 hours of dyno time (07/24/01)

So far I have about 11 hours of dyno time in)

Isn't that kind of low for spec B's? Anyone else?

Is that the fuel pressure with vacuum on or off. If it is pressure with vacuum then it should come up a little, if its is off then bring it down some. Your intake cam is advanced way too much try advancing that around 2 degrees and play with the exhaust some get power retarding it a degree some find the power advancing it a degree.

that fuel curve can't be adjusted any further w/ the v-afc? That's what the curve looked like w/ my field unit, which has only 1/2 of the adj. points(every 1k rpm).

I have a setup almost like yours, but have not tuned them yet, just installed them.

That's as far as I could get before I got a CEL #3

This is also why I brought the fuel pressure to 50psi.

B's are good with stock pressure and injectors.........

move X-over up and advance the intake gear.........

Tune the fuel good...it's that easy.

I'll post my dyno plot when I get home as a comparison.

richen your curve on the bottom rpms and lean it up top. Try to stay around 13:1 on your air fuel ratio, there is more power to be made.

I wouldn't advance more than 4 degrees on the intake cam.
You better be careful your piston doesn't smack a valve 6-7 degree advanced on the cam is just plain dangerous.

Hi,

Your A/F ratio and TQ curves mimic what I feel SOTP in my car. No dyno yet for me, still debugging before I work hard on tuning.

Car has a big hump from the CAI around 4500, and looks like you need to add fuel there to richen. I feel this on the road and richened via VAFC at 4000 and 4500. <EDIT> Are you using stock intake? I thought I read AEM but it's not listed?</EDIT>

Also, looks like the middle needs more fuel while the top could be leaned. I also feel this, but didn't lean the top too much since I wanted to stay safe. When I confirm with a wideband O2 on the dyno I can pull more fuel out uptop

Quick/Dumb question. You said they advanced the intake 6 degrees?

When people say +2/-2 on the intake and exhaust, is that at the cam gears, or at the crank? Also, with such high lift on Toda Bs, how can you advance that far without getting piston/valve contact? With the Juns, don't they recommend that you keep the cam gears at 0/0? I thought lift was similar. I guess it's where in the powerstroke the lift is happening, right?

My head is milled, so I've read that I should try to advance intake and exhaust (like +3/+1) to compensate...

You should be able to make more power if you just lean uptop a little, 180+ at the wheels

If you get more compression...

Thoughts?

i thought Toda B's liked higher compression too.

definitely needs to fine tune more

You need to tune that fuel curve. You want it as flat as possible. Right about 13:1 is where I have mine setup. Also did you make sure to reset your timing when you changed the cam timing with the cam gears? Always need to reset it when you advance or retard your INTAKE cam.

Also, can you get those plots with the RPM and not MPH readout? What year and car is this as well?

Get some 270cc injectors and ditch the B's for some Spec A's. I can assure you it'll be quicker. Also, do a ported head. Other than that, your setup will be high 190s with the A's... if not 200.
