Default 94 speedometer

k this happened about 6 months ago i was drivin and then all of the sudden my speedometer went to zero then bounced back up to 20 and just stayed there it works some times but for the most part just stays at 20. what should i do is there a way to fix it or do i have to buy a whole new speedo ??????

try taking out the dash and checking the wiring. Make sure nothing is loose of burnt out. And if everything looks good on the inside...then i dont know whats up

I had the same problem a while back, eventually the speedo stopped working completly and I got an cel for a malfunctioning vehicle speed sensor. I replaced that and everything started working like normal again.

It might still be a problem with the speedo itself though, cuz I recently replaced my gauge cluster and it does the same thing, but when I hold down the gas mileage reset button it'll work like normal, which leads me to believe its some kinda electrical or mechanical problem with the actual speedo. Perhaps try replacing that first, and if that doesn't work it's most likely your speed sensor going out.
