hey does anyone know what exactly the maintenance light means on the s2k when it comes on? is it like the old hondas where it just meant oil etc and you could control it or is it something else.... its not the check engine light just the maintainence light....

 

About every 7500 miles.

 

the maintenance light it is set at certain mile intervals i believe. look in your manual(not sure if factory has it but helms or haynes will) and it should tell you where the switch is to reset it.

Press and Hold the select and reset buttons before your turn your key to on. Then, while holding turn the key on. Continue holding until the light goes out. It takes a while. Then turn the key off and turn it on to check if the light is gone. If it is not, then repeate the process.

 

k thanks a lot hondatec.... did you get your s2k yet? if so I have a question for you.... does it feel like when you are in neutral and you rev the car a little bit you almost have to force it to climb the rpm range whereas a civic or integra you barely tap it a few times and it goes to 5k? could this be because the pedal is stiffer or what? or it could just be my imagination since it has a digital tach and the motor revs so high.....

 

its due to the lighter flywheel...w/ lighter flywheel the revs will jump higher/faster in the same amount of time w/ the regular heavier flywheel...however, w/ the lightened flywheel, as fast as the revs go up...they also drop down at a faster rate than if the flywheel was heavier..also it has to do w/ throttle response, some motors are more responsive than others and a S2k being more performance orientated than a civic/integ the flywheel will probably be lighter w/ a higher throttle response obviously...

 

It's your imagination. If anything my civic revs slower in nuetral. I'll look into it though. I think the big tach is playing games with your head. I can see where your coming from though.

 

yes, it was in my imagination.... you know what it was? it was the fact that the s2k tach goes all the way up to 9K and that the 1-3k and 4k rpm range is really close together, so i was barely tapping it and it was getting there, whereas in a civic or teg it takes harder tapping to get it there, i just wasnt paying attention to where the yellow bars were hehe
