Azenis Size question for 16" wheels
I have a set of 16x7 Slipstream lying around that I want to use for street (are 16" rotas strong enough for streets?)
I want to get some cheap tires for them. I checked Azenis and the V rated one only offered 205/55($86) and the Z-rated one offered 215/45 ($107). The problem is that I disliked 15x6 wheels because they do not mate with 205 wide tires that well, now if I do go 215 on 16x7, I will run into the same problem again. Not to mention they are pretty expensive.
So, is it possible to run on 205/55? I am using stock suspension...

What you need to do Is check the dia of the tire/rim to see if it will be within or dang close to the stock dia setup. Keeping it close or the same will ensure that you speedo and gear ratio will be ok.

Yup, he's right. I'm using 215x45 on my 16x7. It is also the same size set up that comes stock on 98+ JDM (and other) ITRs.

215/45/16 will work ok on a 7" wheel, but overall the 215/45/16 won't be kind to your gear ratio. It's taller than the oem 195/55/15.

True..but not by enough to make a huge difference.
195/55/15
sidewall: 4.2in
Radius: 11.7in
Diameter: 23.4in
Circumf: 73.7in
215/45/16
sidewall: 3.8in
Radius: 11.8in
Diameter: 23.6in
Circumf: 74.2in
Id rather have the lower profile, and wider contact patch...IMO

Then get the 205/50/15 Azenis. Just as wide as the 215 yet a lot shorter.

I have 215/45/16 on my 16x7" wheels, tires fit the wheels fine but I do experience a bit of rubbing. Acutally, let me clarify, the tires don't rub at all under normal driving conditions but do rub quite a bit on bumpy autocross courses
Car is lowered just a bit on Zeal B2, here's a pic of the ride height:

Good point..
But 205 is 10mm skinnier than 215, correct? (not a huge diff though, prolly the best of both worlds.)

The 215's would be wider.

205-wide Azenis are about the same width as most 215-wide tires. 215 Azenis would be even wider than that.

215/45 16 Azenis mounted on my volks currently...they're 16x7 wheels, the tires were great when it was at stock ride height, and they're great lowered about an inch. no rubbin etc.
