rs= base model
ls= midrange model
gs=ls with gsr option level(ie leather seats alloy wheels. . . )
gsr= top end model with vtec
type r= race model with vtec set up as the best handling front wheel drive in the world and still unable to be beat by any other competition in stock form

Don't forget the moon roof dohc-nyne.
If the RS is low-end then I'm assuming it has less power than all of the others. Anyone know if it is the same 1.8ltr as the rest?
I suggest a Type R if ya can find one for the price you are willing to pay, but that might be overdoing it. GSR's are good and you've got your more luxurious features as opposed to the "racing model" ITR. I've got a 91' LS and I love it to death. A little turbo will compensate for the missing VTEC technology but it is really all about what features will make you enjoy driving your car. Make sure to check everything and not just the engine.
I find the cloth seats in mine somewhat uncomfortable after a long drive, might just be my back or the way I sit but leather may help reduce that. If you plan on getting stuff like racing seats in the future, you may not want a GS (upgraded LS) because then the leather is basically obsolete since you will be ridding yourself of the front seat(s). You get the idea..... good luck.

the rs/ls/gs/se all have the same motor and should run the same times. except that the less equipment, the less wieght you have. and it may even be a little stiffer due to lack of a big hole in the roof.

Wow is that true? What about the DC5? If the old integras are better i guess honda took a step back.

This is correct
all use b18b.
This is ONLY TRUE for RS, LS, GS and SE 3rd GEN tegs
Not applicable to1G, 2G's any GS-R's or TypeR's
</TD></TR></TABLE>
And no one has mentioned the 2G "LS Special" which is basically
an LS with "exclusive color and trim and two tone interior and painted alloy wheels.
Or the 3G "SE" which is sorta similar to a 2G "LS Special" but with more
luxury options and NO performance options.
And the TypeR's are really a real "Limited Edtion", comes with serial number ID plate and all.
