Default Realtime Integra Race Car Headlight...

I have a spare passenger headlight and was interested in making it into the ones which the realtime Integras have. Ie. how the Main beam is an "ram Air" Intake,
so does any one know how to do it, or simply seperate the casing on the Light.

matt bookler (speedracer33) did a setup like this on his H1 hatch. Just removed the headlight and made (purchased?) a snorkel that went to the throttle body. no filter, but a mesh screen.

RJ,

Matt really isn't using a filter.

As Karl would say- "Good luck with that".

Bookler- stick a filter on that car before you blow-up and I spin in your oil!!! That would **** me off.

the more recent RTR DC2's didn't have headlights, just stickers of headlights.

regardless the fabrication is custom...break out the cutting wheel and go to work.

i've seen it in person, nothing super-professional... just gonna take some cutting and a funnel shaped device.

Do you have to take the headlight assembly off first, or just drill a hole and start file-ing away?

Surely running no filter of somesort will destroy your engine, what happens if say a love bug gets in the intake?

i would take the assembly off but i guess you don't have to. just seems easier to work with when it's off.

the entire headlight assembly? just remove all it's connections to the car.

the face of the headlight? bake it (i'm not sure the EXACT temp or time) and the glue will melt.

i don't think you need to separate the assembly, i just meant it'd be easier if you took it off the car.

Mine is a pre-made piece made by iceman just for the 5th gen Civic. It comes with absolutely nothing for protection, so I used some plastic rain gutter guard to keep bits of tire and rocks out. No filter though. Once I get it tuned right, I'll try running it with a filter and see how much power I lose. If it isn't a big difference, I'll do that...

They (iceman) don't happen to make one for the DC2 Teg?

We did one for a teg where we took off the bumper and took a piece of carboard and trimmed it to where the profile matched the opening and then we used that profile to trim down a abs pre made round duct. We then used heavy duty abs glue to bond it to the bumper. Then we had the whole bumper repainted so it all matched.

To connect it we ran a short ram AEM intake with one of those RPI style front opening enclosed filters and some silcone tubing for flexability to attach it to the duct.

NEVER EVER run with out a filter because you never no when some one will go into the dirt in front of you.

To make a "realtime" headlight assemby. Need to get an Acura NSX intake system, cut the light out, fabricate a piece from the headlight to the intake, fabricate a piece from the intake to the throttlebody.

from that pic it looks like they used the "Normal " not the Main beam, thats annoying because I started on the main already,

Willard-Do you have any pics of the engine bay and how they routed it?

No, they only made it for the Civic, and even that is out of production now. It is set up to let you run it in a non-ram set up if you add a filter. I just don't want to lose the power! LOL!

I have the rain gutter guard over the opening to keep the large things out. I was planning on using pantyhose in the line to help keep crap out. What I could really use is a coffee filter kind of set-up, but nobody makes those.
