ITR vs GTR
Hi all, just a random question. I have some friends who drag every so often, one has a gsr and the other has a type-R. The gsr is a 4dr manual with intake and exhaust. The type-R has an AEM intake and i thikn thats it. But when they drag, the GSR takes the type-R off the line .....they say up till 4th gear, if i remember correctly. The type-R's explination for this is the limited slip diff. Is that it? just wondering.
look at the dyno below:
If you notice, the GSR has a good amount more power (25hp in one place) and a HUGE amount more torque than the ITR until about 6.3K. Even after that, the itr's torque only peaks to what the gsr had earlier (and is almost equal to the GSr torque at 2.5K!!). Having both motors/cars the GSR definately 'feels' faster. That is until 6K comes, then "Hold on to your butts!!" The result of the above race is driver for sure. The GSR no dout would pull in 1st initially, but the ITR has much more reach and tighter gearing. That alone makes a Huge difference.

every mag youll read will show you R's times in 0-60 are at least 1 second if not more faster than the GSR and 1.5 seconds faster in the 1/4 mile, defintely driver, has to be, R has LSD for better traction on take off, its lighter, and has 25 more Hp, and closer gearing. Driver for Driver the GSR is toast Period.
Also you need to find out if the ITR driver is having alot of wheelhop or not? If so he need to lower the front tyre presure and that will help. I know it does on mine. matters if your trap speed by about 2mph.
Something is wrong with that Type R. If the Gsr even lauches better because of a better Driver, the R , at least my R plus all the R in Jamaica would easily pass it by
the beginning of 3rd gear. All needs to be done is shift all gears at red line.
A Gsr with intake and exhaust is a easy kill for R, even with no mods.

Those dyno charts don't take into account the difference gearing makes. I'm not about ot figure exactly what the dif is, but keep in mind that the R's gearing is a fair bit shorter, which will increase the effective amount of power to the wheels, so the difference is actually much less than it seems.
