Default How the #*&@! are you guys getting traction?!

Hey guys, I just bought JalopySiR's CRX and I can't traction if my life depended on it in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. I didn't even try 4th! Tires have decent amount of meat left, but getting pretty damn low. The car puts down 210hp/190tq at the wheels. Any tips? Does the Jim Fab really help significantly?

Thanks,

Goldfingiz

Get a really fat chick.... :-) or look into an LSD. Maybe a bad solution could be wider tires for more surface area to grip. Just a few Ideas.

Good tyres properly sized for your rims, good shock absorbers. And check out your engine mounts they need to be in decent condition. I bet you have crap tyres myself.

I've got Stock JDM wheels (215/45 16") and my traction is alright (not perfect)...but If I do over 12psi...hell still breaks loose...I kinda like it though

i have dynoed at 212 whp and 178lb/tq and i have the same problem you are having. i have tried new tires shocks and motormounts. Everyone tells me that the Z10 traction bars are the way to go and i am considering purchaseing a set. that is just my .02

1st gear will be stupid spinning. Shift to second somewhat early without powershifting, let the turbo lose spool slightly so you don't shock the tires when letting out the clutch. Let the car pull back up into power, and it should grip fine if you have decent tires.

Hell, I ran 13.8@102 when the engine died at about the 1000' mark with a 2.4 60' time on POS General 185/65/14 tires off a 96 Civic LX, only making 232hp/180ft lbs at the wheels. No traction bars, BAD camber and toe, burned the tires all the way through second.

we dont get traction, you have to be a little more mature with the gas and not floor it off the line, i do love it when the tires break loose right when it hits full boost and people just look at me when they hear the tires squealing. its priceless, although its also not pricesless when a cop gives you a ticket for squealing the tires and he doesnt understand anytihng about boost (personal experience)
Falken azenis 215/45 should do the trick if you keep it under 8psi i have hit a 1.9 60ft on these.

haha lmfao, good idea but if you just wanted to add some weight i'd rather use sand or bricks than have to look at a fat chick

get bfg's. I only spin in 1st gear. 2nd grips. With my other falken zuex's when i'm riding anything over 40 mph i can drop second and when it spools the tires light up, it's really fun. but i'd invest in some good tires before buying traction bars.

Yea, get a 2 stage boost contoller and some BFG DR's and if you get tired of replacing CVs, then just get the driveshaftshop.com CVs.

I don't know much about LSDs, but its seems to be the only way anymore.

8psi in first, then shift 2nd, and flip the switch to XXpsi

No, I don't just dump the clutch. I nkow how to drive

Besides, the ECU was programmed so that the RPM can't go passed 3500 when the car isn't moving.

I've never dumped the clutch. If I'm going in first, and nail it, it spins. Same with 2nd and 3rd. If I'm just cruising and nail the gas it starts spinning.[

like we said before, just feather the gas. play with it some untill you start to get traction. In first and second, kinda ride threw the spin untill you see that your mph isn't climbing anymore and then shift. Same for second and so one.

Nice slicks sixtydashone, exact same thing as mine, white lenso's on a red car look great.

hahaha ms. downforce...

I'm running...

JimFab Traction Bar
JimFab front motor mounts
Skunk2 Coilovers, with Rear drag springs.
KYB AGX
BFG Drag radials

Greddy Profec B, with the boost switch button.
Low boost in first, high through the rest.

It's all about controlling your right foot.

damn this is what im lookin at if i get 350hp in my accord to the wheels. Cops dont understand a damn thing about writing tickets. For example I was runnin this guy but not all that fast just keepin up with him he stops me and i told the cop yo hes gettin away with my **** he stole off my car. And the cop goes what guy i told him it was a diamante that weeved back in traffic and turned the coner after blending in. He was like ill be right back took my liscense and registration the usual and tried to give me a ticket i handed him the pba and he was like what did he steal., And im like in my mind i dont have time for this **** here he is gettin away and you want to have a convo . He actually told me to just let it go i was like .

I told him he took the inside part that holds the rear bumper up on the rear corner panel and he was like im getting down there to see what it is im not tryin to get dirty . I was like in my mind then why the hell did you wanna become a cop just to get a daily fix on ****** people over while breakin the law yourself. all nothing but bullshit I tell ya.
