Almost positive it won't. Sorry, I don't know for sure.... 
I have an 84, which may differ from the 87, but mine is the EW-1; not too up on the 87's... I've heard the engines are different, but I'm not for sure. Anyways, a D series head won't bolt on mine, studs won't match up. Plus I came up with the problem that the belt won't match up, the D series is a taller head than the EW-1.
