I have a cuzzin that badly needs a ECU for his 96 prelude
He just recently swaped over the JDM H22
but he needs the ECU for that JDM motor
rite now he is running it off the stock H22 USDM ECU
but no V-TECH kicks in
will the automatic JDM H22 ECU work for his manual lude???
or should he try to find the manual one???
If U have one...PM me I'll pay quick cash for the JDM H22 prelude ECU

take it to a shop they can change the ECU to manual. It is pretty much as easy as changing a jumper. I am using a auto p28 that was converted. Also...why isn't the USDM one working? My guess is something else is wrong.

The P13 doesn't have jumpers involved with the auto/manual. the only way to change it is to get the eprom changed. the p28 is completely different.
You can use the auto P13 but you will get a CEL. If you find an auto and want to get it chipped you also may have problems with high idle or even lopping idol. For some reason the even though you change out the chip the auto ecu just doesn't work quit the same as a manual. I have had both auto and manual and had both chipped. I say find a manual ecu
As far as not having vtec, do a search on that, there are many things that could be causing your vtec not to engage

hmmm I think mine has the same problem but but once in a while it does that can it be that problem cause I have a auto p13 but its been reprogrammed into a 5-speed this can complicate things right? Ive been changing things to do with my idle like crazy still cant find out what it is. But i hvae a wuestion for you chk4tix. I had that idle loping problem I switched my p13 to the accord p3 its a actual 5-speed hasnt been programmed came like that with the car it still does the same damn thing.
But on the other hand you know when i took it to the shop they played with the fast air idle valve and it stopped for a good minute 3-days later after running it still does the same thing once in a while. could this be it or the computer.? cause im at a lost for word here.

well, that might be the infamous loping idle that some people seem to get. It might not have anything to do with your ecu then. I cant remember the actual thread that talks about this, but do a search for loping or erratic idle in the archives and see what comes up. I remembered they talked about a lot of stuff form egr to the idle valve to a few other things. maybe someone else on here remembers that thread and can direct you to it. good luck

We offer the service to convert the auto ecu to manual. The common problem with chipped p3 autos is the idle and looping. We can eliminate that.
