Default Cluster swap question.

Will a 94 Civic EX cluster fit into a 99 Civic DX? Thanks.

depends, how much money do you have?

and how frustrated are you willing to get?

if you have infinite patience, and a good sum of money, i'd say knock yourself out.

Not easily. Most would say to get a 96+ cluster and make life easier. Unless, of course, you have a real boner for the 94 cluster. If so, see the above

it will fit but you'll need to do some wiring and modifications

I'm sure it could, but not worth the time and trouble imo...

Well, I only asked because my friend has a trashed 94 Civic EX and that cluster has a tach in it. I have a 99 Civic DX which has no tach and I would rather have the tach in the cluster than have to buy a new cluster or an external tach. But thanks guys.

If that's the case, will your buddy give you the cluster for free?? If so, take it. Sell it and take the money to buy the cluster that drops in easily.
