Cant get my hood to close!
Ok well it sounds stupid but yes i cant get my hood to close all the way. I have a ls swap and i had to cut some of the skelton of the hood out. The lach part will go over the bracket but the little screw with the spring will not lock. I have tryed to tighten and losen the screw but it didnt help. ANY help would be appreciated.
Hey, I've got the same problem...Sometime. What I do when this happens, I get the trusty 10mm socket out and unbolt the latch assemble from the bumper, not on the hood but on the bumper. If you look where the screw thingy goes into the hole (hmm, inuendo...buuuddyyy...) there should be a small piece of metal coming out that you can push in and out. That's the latch release. If it's not sticking out, which is what mine does, then after you have unbolted it just shake a little and get some wd-40 in there. Keep spraying it down with wd-40 every once in a while and it should come completely clean. Mine now works fine. If all else fails...Go to a junkyard and get a whole new latch...or hood pins
On your drivers side motor mount, you will see were the mount itself can unbolt from the metal mount on the bloakc...undo this, with a jack under it, and lower it down, then put some washers in between the metal mount and the mount with the rubber inside of it. should lower it just enough for the hood to close HTH
