GSR Gear ratios/mph...does this seem right?
I have a JDM B18C with Y80 tranny in my hatch.
My 1st gear takes me to 41 mph (redline)
2nd..............................68 mph
3rd..............................95 mph
4th...............................governor
For some reason it seems like it takes forever to finish 1st gear. This is something thats been bothing me for a long time.
Does it have something to do with my tire height???????????????//
My car is barely lowered an I scrape the fenderwall on u-turns
I have Si rims with 185/65/15

governor? what tha heck ECU is that? My car is power/drag limited to somewhere just north of 140mph in 5th.
And your tires are very tall and skinny.... get some 205/50's on there and you'll be much happier, less scraping, and better acceleration (your tall tires effectively lowered your final drive).

i know of someone else around my area, they have the JDM B18C1, its also in a hatch. its a pretty sick car, about 311 horsepower to the wheels, turbo charged at 8 or 9 psi i think, on stock internals. He took it to the track, and the car fell on its face at 120mph. i guess its some kind of built in governer. Then some friend of mine had a discussion about it, and i guess they said a whole lot of JDM ECUs have the 120mph limiter on them. it sounds pretty normal to me.
4dr_gsr...what size tires do you have?
and yes.. my jdm ecu has a limiter. i don't know why. im getting my hondata installed and tuned...so that won't be an issue anymore.
