RPM tach problem
well, i finally got my zc running good and smooth. but there's one problem: the rpm tach
when i go to rev the car, the needle sits at 0 and then will jump suddenly to 6k and stop. when i drove the car and floor it, the needle sits at 0 (not the idle) and will also jump to 6. it basically not reading correctly.
now, the needle sits at 8k (idle), and will go backwards when i step on the gas.

yeah it worked fine before the engine was put it, in fact the zc was running and the tach still worked. it just started acting up yesterday.
did you actually mess with the needle on the tach itself... i did this once and when i reinstalled it the tach didnt work at all... the needle was just stuck... i took it off again and put it back on slightly looser and it worked fine
I'm not sure if this will help, but did you mess with the wires inside the dizzy that attache to the igniter at all?
When I bought my LS teg, the tach didn't work right and members told me to make sure the wires on the igniter were good and tight. That fixed my problem.

I would double check the wires on the ignitor, my tach sometimes jumps from like 5200rpm to 6800rpm, cause my ignitor wires arent on tight... then I hit the gay rev limiter....
