When are people going to realize that modifications add nothing to the resale value of a car.

I'm not so sure I'd want a 6 year old car with only 1500 miles on it.. you have to take certain steps to store a car for that long... I'd rather get one with 40k or so.. but that's just me I guess.

I agree. Letting a car sit is harder on it than driving it.

1997 Acura Integra TYPE R <<<<>>>Rare White<<<>>>SHOW CAR<<>>#102 - $27888
Take the last 8 off the price, then I'd be interested. Waste of a car and my time.

You are right. In some people's eyes modifications add NOTHING to the re-sale value of a car. I believe modifications do add value especially if done right and installed professionally. This is totally MY OPINION though. Beauty and value is always in the eye of the beholder. If it is worth that kind of money to the buyer, then by all means let them buy that 97' R for $100,000. If they are happy in the purchase and the seller is happy then money is only a medium of exhange of value.

you guys can say what you want, but I've known that type R since day 1. That is probably the nicest type R that was ever built up without racing in mind. Even companies in Japan have contacted the owner stating that they are amazed in the quality of work in that car. That car has easily won car shows and is a icon in the honda import showcar scene. And yes it was maintained properly and stored properly when it wasn't driven. I live 5mins from the owner and I've seen all the steps he's done in protecting and storeing that car. And yes it has a clean title and all the work, parts, etc... are all legit. Since it appears the website is down thats hosting some pictures, here's some pictures I have of it:

I know most of you hate show cars, but please keep your lame H-T "type R's are for racing only" comments to yourself and give the owner credit for the hard work he's done to this car. Remeber this owner has been working on this car since '97 (6yrs), not '00-'01 like 90% of you.
Oh yeah side note, the owner actually one of the first guys in the US who had a JDM front. Way back in March or so 1997, Wings West bought and imported a complete JDM front direct from Honda. Wings West was planning on making copies of the kit to sell, however it ended up falling though since the cost was too high and they at the time were in contact with this owner and sold him the front.

no offense to the owner, but I liked the car better before I saw the pics.
not my style.. and not an icon of anything but a show car imo.

no a/c
mike, u know what he is moving onto next?
why not just part out the car?
seems like he has more than 10k worth of parts he could sell off

he's selling the car probably because the car just sits in the garage. I don't think he's showed the car in awhile because carshows now are all fixed. Plus I think he's just bored with showing since he's been doing it for 6yrs. But yeah he has easily 40,000+ invested into that car, however you can't add that to the price. Also I don't think he really cares to part it out to make more money. I think he just wants to see if someone will just buy it as is. I don't really know though. Last time I talked to Ben was a year or two ago. Just stop by Stevens Creek Acura and talk to him or give that number a call. I'm not sure if he still has to the S2000, JDM civic, GSX-R, IS300, etc... I did see a new JDM Skyline in front of Acura so maybe he bought that. I also mighth have heard he might have a new NSX... I dunno...
BTW- he changes wheels each show. Last time I saw it, he might have had Spoon wheels on it, or some type of Volk wheels. Those wheels in the pictures were some wheels a company gave him real quick during a show to put on his car as a sponsorship or something. If you look closely, you will notice the wheels are just hanging on and that their is a piece of cardboard between the wheel and the calipers since the wheels didn't fit on the car.
But I'm sure the car will come with either stock wheels or Racing Hart or Volk Wheels that are nothing like whats in the pictures.

1500 mils on a car that old it stupid. Id rather have one with like 15k on it. I bet just about everything in the car is rotted out.
I dont like showRs thats not what they are made for.

Not your standard auto-X, road/drag race type of ITR, but attention to detail and overall condition are A1. Raise it a little and swap the 18's for some 15x7 Spoons and your in business
very clean type r. imaculate condition. I agree that if you swap out those rims for spoons that your in business
