There are only 3 ways to launch in an auto and only 2 of them are fullproof. The N-bomb. Dumping from neutral, this is by far the worst method and it is horrible on your tranny. Brake-Stand or power brake. push in the brake just enough to hold the car at about 1.5k or 2k and then let off and floor it. Most of the time if you hold it at 2.5k the car will bog for about 2-3 secs. because the car thinks it should be in second. The last and most efficient way is to drop it into 1st and rev up to about 2k and then let off the brake. You should chirp the tires and be on your way and then you should just shift it yourself. This is also harsh on your tranny but by far the easiest to pull off.

Edit: BTW you should run about a 16.8 or someone in there on 1/4 tank w/full interior. Just work on your launches and right before it shifts(if you use method 2) let off and then punch the gas and you will be in a higher rpm in the next gear w/out chirping the tires.

i'd say if you shift from d1-d2-d3, you should be in the 16's, that would be my suggestion while power braking
