Default MAM Event on Sunday - September 7th

We have moved the date to Sunday the 7th instead of Monday the 8th for the same price. This will allow more interested people to attend the event from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. The track is located on the Nebraska - Iowa border just outside of Omaha, NE. Included will be the following:
- Ambulance Service with EMT's
- Concession Stand
- Timing Equipment
- Corner Workers
- Instructors available also.

Cost = $175 / attendee with a minimum of 25 paid attendees

I need to give the track the deposit by July 31st in order to hold the date.
Registrations need to be in by July 31st! Let's make this happen.

The website is http://www.midamericamotorplex.com

Track map : http://www.midamericamotorplex.com/code/track.htm

Registration Form : http://www.midamericamotorplex.com/code/forms.htm

The front strait is 2,222' long, and you get up to 120 mph, and you hit 100+ mph in 3 or 4 spots on this course. Average times range in the mid 1:40's to high 1:50's. The track is 2.25 miles long, and 40 feet wide - it is very fast! They have fuel on sight, and there is a gas station about a mile away.

ok......now that we know what day it's on........what's the schedule gonna be like?

what time does registration open?
what time does tech open?
drivers meeting?
first session?
last session?

i don't expect these questions to have answers yet, but we do need to start planning for the day. or maybe MAM does this for us.

also......is there gonna be a hotel everybody is staying at? everybody camping?

i ask because if stuff starts "early" then i need to probably drive down saturday night after work, or i may leave at like 5am and drive down, i dunno.

other MN people, what are you doing?

I will house as many people as I can at my place. If there are several, there is plenty of floorspace

I'm in the process of getting the money together...should be a fun time.

As for where to stay, if things are crowded, I'll find some cheap motel nearby I guess.

I'm definately interested in going. I've never took my R to the track before and wondering what I need. I do need a helmet right? Is there a certain kind of helmet I have to get. Someone help me out on this one I'm going nuts thinking about this upcoming event!

Some other people in the other MAM post were asking were in Nebraska I live. I live in a little town of less than 300 people in between Lincoln and Omaha. It's 23 miles from Lincoln and probably 20 or so miles from Omaha. I've had my car for about a year and a half and have only put 5K miles on it. I bought it salvaged from TX and it's been in the shop more times than I wanna count. The JDM Front is on and I'm waiting for the new Rad. Support and Bumper Reinforcement which should be here on Tues.

If anybody has any help on this event like helmets or anything else I need to know since i'm a track Virgin i'd really appreciate it

THIS IS GONNA KICK SO MUCH A$$!!

Another thing I just remembered. I was wondering if anybody knows about the Type-R that a guy used to have but sold it. His Name is Mike Kline and he works at Lyles Tire on 84th St. in omaha. He's a close friend of mine, does anyone know who got that R??

I don't want to go buy a freaking race suit or anything like that. I just want to know what I need to have to attend the event. If I enjoy which i'm sure I will, I continue to get more things later on.

looks like I can't make it after all. I was just reminded that i had a wedding on the 6th.

I knew there was a reason I liked the 8th better, but this just totally slipped my mind. Looks like I won't be able to attend with you guys

i wasn't going to tell you to get a freaking race suit.

but if you're going to attend future events, you might as well buy a freaking helmet, which you'll need at EVERY event you go to.

I have a Bell M2 and I love it. I'd recommend for looking for a helmet rated SA2000 as it will be good for quite a while. You can get some el cheepos on ebay or get a quality helmet for a bigger price

Buy a good helmet especially if you plan on attending future events. Nice to see other NE ITR's on here.

Also, i know that some kid bought the K-Line ITR. It needs dericing. Stupid altezza's and hideous wheels have got to go.

Anyway, Hope to see you at the event.......
If you can't drive you should at least come out to chill as well as show off the JDM front

-Larkin whos also a track virgin

Ahh...I remember that R. I was interested in the swap if the guy was going to sell it. He declined, but I remember him telling me the salvaged R was from TX.

I'd like to check your R out sometime.

Hmm, this is actually within a day's drive. Maybe if I can stay with Todd also, since I'm broke. Todd, you got any extra garage space?

How many people have signed up so far?
