I'm looking a whats the best cam to run *with stock valvetrain* on a B18B head.

getting a new head which was PnP, with all new OEM springs/hardware installed.

Looks like the 403/404 need new springs/retainers, likewise with the #14 and larger Crane cams..

This is a PnP head, should I bother buying either the #12 or 402 cam? Or run the stocl B18B cams for now, and save my money and install ungraded springs, and go for a 403 Cam?

This is a street car, BTW, so I don't want to go too big with the cams and hurt the idle quality. At least, here in MI, we don't have emissions checks:-)

Searches only produced people with 403s and (mostly 404s)..
