quickie: timing belt keeps skipping
alright, i've put the (PE) belt on the crank, than the tensioner, than the water pump.
tensioned up, everything is good.
Put the crank pulley and the lower (timing belt) cover back on.
Now when we turn the crank over it keeps skipping on the gear, like it won't hold. (skunk2 gears)
what could I be missing?
Thanks

What i usaully do when i am first tensioning a belt is leave the cover off, and have someone hold the belt against the gears. This way it wont slip when you get to a loose spot in the belt.
