Cylinder Head Porting
Is it really worth doing on my car? I know in domestics it really makes a difference. But I have heard that Honda/Acura stock heads flow well from the factory. Is that true?
BTW.. I have a set of Canfield 2.02 heads for a small block ford if anyone is interested or you know someone who would be. They were ported by Fox Lake racing out of Ohio. They have full intake and exhaust porting as well as bowl work. Bronze valve guides, stainless steel valves, heavy duty valve springs and titanium retainers. Ill let them go for a steal at 1400 bucks.

if you really want to know, check out user: edo on clubrsx.com. he's done the most anyone has done to a K motor so far. i believe he had his head ported, but from what i remember gains were marginal. anyway, he's the best one to ask about these mods. he knows his **** too.
Porting helps if you have more aggressive cams ie. more aggressive than the Spec A and stock Type S cams. We tested the toda engine kit here w/ head porting. The head porting did something like 2-3kw atw (Aussie dyno) I dont know how much that would equate to on the US dynos but definetly more than what we got.
Personally I wouldn't do port and polish unless you have considerable internals ie. 12.5-13.0 CR, with Spec C-style cams etc etc
Cheers
Mike
