Default B16B or B18C1

Is it better to get the B16B (EK type R) or the B18C1 swap for a eg hatch? Considering that the B16B is a cheaper swap.
Any opinions?
Thanks
V

well if in your situation cheaper=better then go with the b18c, however if you feel the need to drop the extra bones for 5 more hp and less torque than by all means go with the b16b. but really i think the b16b motor is only for bragging rights for not a huge gain. just get the b18c and you wont be dissapointed.

Oh btw where have you found a b16b cheaper than a b18c?

So you are saying go with the B18C?
Both are pretty similar in power and torque, in fact the B16B has 185 hp vs the 180 on the C1 (JDM). Torque is also pretty close.
To me though, I have to also look at overall ease of dropping either engine in my hatch and additional parts needed to make it work.

yes. with the extra money it would cost to get a b16b you can save for FI or put towards other mods.

What crack are you smoking? There's a reason so few people have B16B swaps, they're rare as **** and too expensive. Better off just going with the B18C1.

They are both B-series motors therefore they both require the same additional parts.

I think the B18C has alot more usable torque than the B16B.
