The middle bolt is the shock mount bolt. If your shock's thread is stripped then you just need a new shock or to re-thread your existing one.

Try using some more pressure as you twist it in.

edit: Are you talking about the front or rear?

Make sure its actually lined up. If the lca is sitting in there crooked then the bolt wont thread in. line it up and look through the hole and see what you can see. Unless youre trying to say that it threads all the way in but just doesnt tighten at all.

my only guess would be to get a new bolt, they're like $7 from a dealership and they usually have them in stock.

i'm just having a hard time picturing a bolt threading but not tightening...

were you referring to me? i read his post, then wrote mine. a second later i realized he was likely talking about the front LCA, hence the "edit."

the bolts are brand new from honda them selves. the bolt slides in to the lca but doesnt tighten to the frame. it just keeps spinning and not tighten. again its not the bolts because they are brand new.

sounds like you need to get the hole re-threaded then. if the hole is threaded and the bolt is threading in to it, then it SHOULD tighten, the bolt will slowly come to a terminal point as it goes in (just like anything that is threaded).

are you sure the bolt is all the way in? are you sure you're using the right bolt? just throwing out some ideas...

i appreciate ur ideas and stuff. but yeah the bolt is all the way in for sure cant really go in anymore then it is now. the bolt simply doesnt tighten anymore. F*** i hate cars already.

its for a 95 civic hatch just incase anyone has hands on ideas.

the part you broke off is the threaded part, that's where the bolt tightens (from what i can picture). if that is broken then you need to get it put back on lol

if the bolt broke off, then the threads on the subframe are okay. Just extract the bolt, get a new bolt, and double-check the torque specs.

i think he's referring to the welded nut when he says he broke the bolt. obviously if there is a bolt already broken off in there the new bolt wouldn't go in... i honestly don't know, pictures would be REALLY helpful.

sry no digi cam. thers no room to even like stick my fingers in where the welded nut use to be. the area is sealed up all around.

* there we go the welded nut (couldnt think of the word..lol) broke off i assume and when the bolt slides in theres nothign to tighten on.

that won't help, he needs to secure the LCA to the frame. with the original nut gone there is nothing to thread in to, therefore no way to secure it.

ah I was unclear which bolt it was...if that nut is stripped, you will have to re-thread it, there is no other way...get a thicker diameter bolt if necesarry
