help a n00b out!!! need some pointers on speakers!
hey...my gf will be getting me a new deck (pioneer premier 850) for about $340 new...any good? any better suggestions?
and i have a 99 integra. what good speakers are there to replace mine? i think mine are 6.5" all around with separate tweeter. I just want to replace the speakers no sub to save space/weight. well anyways..i see these focal utopia's and they're 8 bills....now i can't justify spending that much or even close to that much for speakers... i need something that sounds clean...not harsh (i think mb quarts sound TOO crisp and i don't like that). i like bass and i want something smooth... let me know where to work after i get my deck?

What kind of budget are you working with. There's a lot of good stuff out there that's half the cost of the Focals (i.e. MBQuart, JL Audio, Diamond Audio, etc.). Since you're in the So Cal area, there should be plenty of shops you can check out. Listen to a bunch of different stuff that fits your budget and see which ones you like.
Since you already have the head unit area covered, I would also look at getting a good amp to go along with the new speakers.

like i said, come by my shop and listen to some, we have diamond, focal, eclipse, mb, etc. on our display, and i can beat the $800 price of the utopias. u should listen to some and u choose which u like.
If you are planning on spending 8 bills on a component make the drive and listen to several first. You can get pretty close in quality for less.
