Wow I thought that was a joke, they have instructions for installing that stuff, YIKES, I would be willing to bet, that setup bends pushrods pretty often!!

When are the domestic people going to get away from pushrods for good? Seriously, what these people need are bona-fide Honda-style DOHC VTEC heads, reverse engineered to fit their V8 blocks. Just think of what a 427 could do with this kind of setup! It almost makes me want to try to develop something like this.

In the mid 60's ford had made an engine to compete with chryslers hemi engine they called it the "Kammer" it had sohc heads with 427ci it made outragous hp an tq #, but meanwhile they bitched to nascar as did chevy that the Chrysler Hemi engine was unfare and they banned it making the Kammer engine also not a legal engine also...

Now the big 3 are making sohc engines like fords 4.6, chevy's lt1, i'm not sure if dodge has one yet but I'm sure if they don't one or two are on the way.

Actually Ford's 4.6 liter 32valve V8 is DOHC. They just need to work on vtec, or as Ford calls it, Zetec.

Yup, a total of 4 cams. I only say this because I am torn between my Mustang cobra and my civic. I am a ford guy with a splash of import. Is that so wrong??

why did that post twice?? hmm.

Honestly, I'm more scared of LS1's than most hondas in Salem Oregon. (With my mustang) But once in a while, I get a pretty good azz whoopin' by a honda. It just gives me something to work on for next time. Those sponsored honda's are usually pretty fast. My honda is soo slow. When I get that B16a installed, I should be in business!

the 94ish corvette zr-1's had dohc all aluminum engines, 405hp... the montecarlo z34 also had a dohc 3.4l v6.. noone liked those engines though.. the caddy norstar engines are dohc 4.2l

guess all they need now is for honda to sell em some vtec so we can have some real fun

Actually the Chevy TrailBlazer engine has something like a VTEC in Honda. 4.2 liter inline 6 with variable timing. Just slap some turbo on that sucker then it'll be flying too. Kekekekekeeke

Those look like what are called "hot rockers."

http://www.hotrocker.com/

There's also what are called Rhoads lifters.

http://www.rhoadsproducts.com/default.asp

Ford has a 427 single overhead cam crate engine now.
