Default Problem with Skunk2 shifter install in a CRX. Help!!

Just a little info, I have a 88 CRX HF with a 93 LS engine swap. I got everything disassembled, and came to find out that the plastic seat that goes around the ball on the stock shifter won't fit on my Skunk2 shifter AND fit down in the hole.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a simple solution? Or do I need to buy some kind of aftermarket adapter? Please help, my car is sitting torn apart in my brother's garage as we speak!

**EDIT** I finally got the shifter in. We had to grind a little off the outside of the plastic seat, and it fell right in. The whole install was a royal pain in the ***, but the car shifts so awesome now. It's like driving an expensive sports car, the shifts are so close together. I recommend this shifter to anyone

you've got to make it fit, it's a tight squeeze but it will fit.
