A little thanx 2 NJ
Every since i got here in NJ of oct 02 i had nothing but scrwed up crap. First i get my crx w/ b18c5 stolen (never recovered till this day.) then last month a finally got a 01 itr only 2 noticed that twice now havent even payed my first payment yet that people been trying 2 steal my ride. what da hell can't you people just get a job and buy your own. hey also thanx for da nice door ding will trying 2 pry my window at da menlo mall. not meant to every1 just ppl with sticky fingers.
Do not park your R (or even most Honda's) at any mall, movie theater, etc. in any of the metro tri-state areas (NY/NJ/Conn). It is annoying, but that is just the area.
don't park in da mall.
seriously, the nj/nj area is not safe for any integra. gsr's are just as rare as itr's around these parts. especially northern new jersey. menlo park mall, garden state, etc. are prime targets. an itr in of those huge parking lots is like taking a candy away from a kid to thieves. you're just lucky the would-be thieves were rookies.

Hmm, you had a B18C5 powered CRX stolen. You didn't think that getting a Type R would be just as bad, actually worse? Not trying to be a wise ***. It sucks, but to be worry-free you need a garage for your R, and a different car/beater to drive everyday for work, etc. It sucks, but that's how bad it's getting in the NJ/NYC/CT tri-state area.

Yeah especially GS, Menlo, and Willowbrook.
And to think, back in '98 when I first got the R, I'd park it at everywhere. Movie theaters, malls, train stations over night, and even in NYC a few times.
I guess I was lucky ..... plus the R was still somewhat new so the community hype was a bit less.
Having an R in Jersey limits my driving to commuting back and fourth to work. I've got a wall/windowed office with my R parked directly infront of my window. (literally only 20ft away). Not only is the security camera on my car but so are my eyes.
For daily bullshit ....... I drive my Element

One day my girlfriend and I were travling back to her house on 22 in Bridgewater when the PY ITR that I was used to seeing parked out front of Bridgewater Acura was no longer there.. but as we passed I noticed it parked way in the back of the lot. We stopped to take a look at it stripped down to a shell, they stole the car right from the dealership lot and stripped it all down. Whenever we go out to eat and I drive I have to park near the windows and ask to be seated there so I can watch my car, it never fails at least once a week I hear some stunna talking about his ITR swap... it sucks here. Some kid from my town had his 00 GSR stolen at Raceway Park during Summer Slam.
i can thank NJ potholes for this....
(just happened this past sunday on my way back to chicago)
my rear oem body kit piece got ripped off too. full story is in the integra forum.

ya always wonder how people could drive in this state with rubber band tires. 90% pot holes + 99% auto theft = NJ divied it with ny = hella alota insomnia. was saving to invest in some performance like maybe a jdm front or turbo ect.... but now putting money into a gps tracker, lojack, 1 hella of an alarm and if it all else fail 1 potty trained (Big) dog. been working on a dead bolt system for the door latch kinda like the bmw latch.
Some advice for you since you are new to the NJ/NY area. DO NOT PARK YOUR CAR WHERE YOU CANNOT SEE IT. I suggest if your ITR is your only car, you better either sell it now, or find a beater you can use to get around. Because drivin an R in Jersey (the capitol of auto-theft) and parking it anywhere is not a good idea. Make sure you do as many security mods as you can do to just hopefully prevent theft. But remember nothing will stop a thief who is determined to steal your car, it will only slow him down. So be very careful.

john, you can come out and say hes a fucktard...you know thats what half the readers are thinking right off the top of their heads.
if you want to park in the shopping grounds for thieves, please do not come to h-t to complain when it gets stolen. thats like if you left $100,000 on a table in the mall and expect no one to take it from you while you goto the bathroom.
theft sucks, and i wouldnt wish it on anyone, but use your common sense
...and if your curious, thats where itr motors and parts go...into other cars, many into integras, and many more into civics and hatchcraps, just because they are **** poor dirt cheap to buy illegally.

Remember guys, they are talking about the state of Northern NJ. The recent split for the South New Jersey has not have many problems.

lol, Nah Tom, he's not a fucktard. To not at least have a garage for your Type R in NJ/NY is really asking for bad **** to happen. Also depends the area you work in. Maybe I'm too paranoid. But I hardly take my POS SI anywhere. If I can't see it parked, then it stays home..

Yeah, northern NJ is horrendous. I absolutely hate it. If you go farther south, it's safer. Heck I used to live in Trenton (where my parents still live unfortunately) and never had problems.
I bought a house in a more rural area of NJ, and it's beautiful. Of course, it sucks *** to pay like $3000 a year for two cars when both the husband and wife have FLAWLESS driving records. It's for the expense of living in NJ alone that I'm considering relocating to North Carolina.
PS> I drive a G2,a nd don't have an ITR, but I dream about them alot, does that
count?

Indeed, insurance is a nightmare in NJ. It's a combination of theft and also accident claims and FRAUD. Is there a better "part" of Trenton that I missed? I've driven through Trenton a few times and prayed that the lights stay green. It was a complete shithole. I know of a guy on the EG/civic board that had 2 of his cars stolen near Trenton.
all that needs to be said is c&j towing in newark.
that's where all the recovered thefts in newark are towed as per the newark police department. it's like a shopping mall full of integra and civic shells.
no matter where you live in jersey you're at danger. more so in northern, but southern as well. if you have a car that is wanted, they will literally follow you home wherever you live.

I live like 2 minutes from trenton, and I've had an integra and a civic hybrid stolen from in front of my house. I got the integra back in one piece, but no such luck with the civic. Jersey is a shithole when it comes to car theft (and lots of other things). I've taken and am taking extra measures to make sure that the car I have now stays mine until I decide I don't want it anymore. It's almost helpless though, because the last car I had was not driveable and it was parked in a manner that made it impossible to move unless you slid it sideways into the street and towed it.
My best advice is to not hang out with other imports. Don't go to e-town or atco, dont go to the local hang outs. The less people see your car, the less the chances are of it getting jacked.
