I DIDNT KNOW THIS COULD BREAK!!!!
Broke my clutch cable today. Thats right, my clutch cable. Pulling into my driveway i step on the pedal, hear a snap and it gets all loose. The loopty hook think broke off the cable. Unbelievable. Am i the only one thats broken that?
hell no, i was in my friends car when it happened to his, pulling out of a parkin spot and it felt like we hit something when it snapped.

why was 3rd so fun? You could have just rpm matched gears and shifted that way

Has anyone ever been able to go from neutral to 1st gear without using the clutch? I can shift up or down in any other gear without the clutch, but not neutral to first from a stop. Any ideas?

you must not have the OEM NUTRAL SAFTEY SWITCH hooked up.. its designed, so when your parked, and in 1st, you turn the key, and dont run over people, or hit walls.. lol, thats what its for.. but, i think if your idleing, and you dont' rev it, and just slam it in 1st, im sure it will go.. but yeah, you have to get those R's up pretty high, just to slide into gears..
yeah, happened to me, and a fellow local B16er.. both of us drove like a bat out of hell.. lol, in fact.. i had the police follow me home.. they litteraly made me prove the cable was broken to slide out of the ticket.. lol, now isnt' that skill? lol

If you start any Honda in any gear it will jump, The 88 has the feature that you do not have to push the clutch in if it is neutral, But if it's a gear the car will jump.

broke mine 2 mths ago 90 crxsi, on my way to work, paying the toll, with a whole line cars behind me, made it though, yep started off in 3rd too
when i came to a light, i would go kinda slow (low rpm)so i wouldnt stall the car out, then as soon as i got green i would speed up, so i wouldnt have to stop.

yes but you can start the car in gear. I've done this a lot just to show people that it can be done. Also it is a good trick to know if you are a four wheeler because if you stall the truck on a climb you can use the starter to climb the obstacle while starting the truck again. Really are some of you guys that clueless or just to inexperienced???

88's don't have a neutral saftey switch

you can still start your car in gear if its got the clutch safety switch, cuase it will be in gear with the clutch pedal down and start in gear, since the cable is broke.
yup, that's basically what happened to me, and i couldn't figure it out. this is when i did the swap, lol I didn't have the clutch cable nearly tight enough. Thought my tranny was seized up or something.

...really...
I wouldn't have thought you could climb an obstacle with a, what, 1/2 hp starter. I'm almost leaning to the side of not believing. If this was so, why don't we just drive around on starters all the time?
ok, maybe I'm clueless and inexperienced.
