nope. haha

but thats what I would do(port the stock GSR manifold) as the skunk2 IM and others were made for the B16/ITR head...

unless someone comes out with something suited for the GSR head

Why not just run the Skunk2 for the GSR?

the angles of the GSR head are different from the B16/ITR head

supposedly, AEBS should be coming out with a GSR manifold engineered for the GSR head

It is going to be some time before this is released. I saw it in production last Friday. Looks nice so far. The design on of the runner is based on frequencies and resonance.

I am modifying a GSR manifold now. Waiting to see how it does on the dyno. Should work well for drag racing, with a 2.0+

I mean get the one for the P72, the angles are minimal in difference, and the manifold will suit the angles for the P72.

what is 'minimal'? in the world of racing, a mm makes a world of a difference.

True, but in the world of racing, anything can be modified. The P72 flow is a straighter design down, but alot of it is in injector angle as well. The P72 flows straight down as the P30 shoots sideways into the head and then curves a little bit. My point is that a skunk manifold would not be a bad idea on the P72.

for refference...

i never realized there was that big of a difference in the intake runners.

A guy I know took out the butterflys and port matched the 2 pieces on his b20vtec. he seems to think it works pretty well. I was thinking about doing the same but have it extrudhoned as well.

IM runner length changes where the powerband is in the motor. Longer is generally better for a lower powerband and shorter for a higher powerband. Note, this is only on the IM runners...the intake pipe(AEM) you generally get more top end from a longer tube and more low end from a shorter tube and ofcourse diameter also plays a huge role in both situations.

if longer runners generally = better low end, why does Erick's modified GSR have two plates? I would assume that he would want all the top end possible having a drag car and all :shrugs:

ericks put 2 butterfly plates together to increase the size/ volume of the intake manifold

Just port out the butterflies and get some new plates fabbed up. Port out the rest and away you go!

what effects does increasing the manifold volume like how Erick's Racing do? what if you did this and kept the butterflies?

Making the plenum bigger helps feed the runners better at high rpms.

on the ericks racing gsr intake manifold what is done to the runners? is the divider between the short runner and long runner removed or is it left in?

Look at the ring compressor he's using, I'm suprised.

They work! dont be such a tool snob... lol

As for the manifolds people do different things:
1. bore the top and bottom, leaving it divided. Some make bigger butterflies out of brass and leave them on there, some just port the bottom part and not the part with the actual butterfly
2. cut thru everything and make it one big port. much bigger port, for big motors! 2.0L High Comp.

I just happen to be selling a ported gsr mani if anyone is intrested in trying one... im going to give hayabusa ITB's a try!
$295 Shipped!

i think the two runners are joined to make one big one. i've been working on porting a H22 manifold and a GSR manifold. The gsr manifold is a lot smaller then the H22 and a lot harder to remove the block or almuinum in the middle. I think ericks racing uses the two plates as spacers to make a larger plenum cuz the hat on the GSR manifold is pretty small. The way the gsr manifold is stock is pretty bad. these are in progress pics. H22 on top and gsr on bottom.
