Default Tranny/ Number and Final Drive?

Did a search under "typeR tranny" only 5 responses came up in archives...

The Final drive on a 98 (typeR) tranny is a 4.7 right?
And the code is y80? Not sure... Thanks. Matt

P.S.
Also how much to get a bad syncro fixed (ball-park)?

The JDM Type R Tranny (1998+) is 4.785
The JDM Type R Tranny (96 Spec) AND the USDM Type R Tranny (98+) is 4.400

I'm not sure of the code(s).

the 98 spec also has USDM GS-R 4th/5th though and the 96spec is the same as the USDM tranny (gears, FD, diff, etc)

I *THINK* the tranny is S80.. but not sure at all.

yep, jdm 98+ spec has the same 1-2-3 as jdm 96 spec and usdm... usdm/jdm 96 has the good 4-5 gears, 98+ jdm has the longer GS-R gears.
