You know the right thing to do.

Rat out the scammer!

He's just feeding the black market for his own financial gain.

That's just as bad as a thief imo

unless you have some hard proof stay away.

the way this looks is. a car has been stolen. a car that gets stolen regularly. whether owned for years or just days. you have now stolen parts in your possession. you call the cops, have these parts they're going to point the finger at you.

how do you have these parts anyway?

when it is public knowledge that you know hUnda's....you will get accused of that....i was accused of jacking stuff over 75 miles away back when i lived in lynchburg....that really hurt cause i would never do that....just because you drive a fast hunda doesn't mean you are gonna jack stuff to get there...

misread the post.

if you do have proof and know the locations of the parts i would report him. meaning, arrange a time and have the cops there to bust him.

i really want to meet with the detective in private and tell him why it *should* be hard to steal an ITR, especially for anyone in my po-dunk area, and the only reason i know what i know is b/c Prelude's got immobilizers the same year as the R

it's a system in the ECU/Igntion swtich/key that allows the car to start... the key has a cumputer chip in it, the ignition switch has a "code reader" that picks up the signal from the chip which them send a signal to the ECU, allowing the car to actually start

stock immobilizers do very little to prevent theft of ITR...the factory ones are pretty weak IMO

my point is though, i SERIOUSLY doubt that anyone in my area other than myself, or my friend that is a Honda technician would even have the first idea how to bypass the system

IMO the average thief would prob. be able to disable the stock immobilizer.

i hope you are right, in that, most country folk are either not thieves or not that good at stealing cars...in places like nyc, socal and nova an ITR with stock alarm could be jacked in a matter of minutes without much commotion or hassel.

best way to prevent theft aside from garage : block the R in by three other cars so the thief has to move and break into 3 rides before he can think of taking the R

my .02$ for whatever it is worth

actually.. the average thief probably cant immbilize the stock one.

my integra that i own now was a theft recovery. it was stolen in VA i think by some repo guy who owned a roll back. well anyways. i had it at my house and for the hell of it i wanted to see if it would start. never did. its a '00 LS. the guy who stole it only got a VAFC and some clear corners.. oh and also some jail time. ignition was all busted, but he could never get the car started.

READ THIS
ok im friend of un-boosted, im also a friend of the guy whos R got jacked. i called him, and said me and un-boosted can help, but he doesnt want us to, exactly like stated previously.

But today, i found out that the R wasnt broken into, a theif supposedly broke into this kids house and stole 20 dollars and the keys to the Type R.
THIS IS POINTING TO FRAUD. How would someone know where the **** the keys are in someones house, and only take 20 bucks as well.

He told me has all those parts, and he said he "might" have a few more vauable R parts lying around he hasnt checked yet.

Also for those people saying mind your own business, how about you mind your own and dont ******* post.
If some people dont put a stop to this, nobody will its bullshit that all import owners are going to have to pay for stupid people like we are dealing with.
