Painting Urethane List did i miss anything?
i posted in the crx/ef forum but didn't get alot of response...
Ok so im getting my kit today and im trying to make a list of paint things that im gonna need.
1) Paint and Clear Coat
2) Flex additive for paint
3) Pad to scrub urethane to get the oils off (i searched and this is suppose to be the way to do it sanding down is suppose to screw it up)
4) 3M red grade scotch pad
5) Plastic prep cleaner
6) Some cloth or paper towels
7) soap and water
I got this from tnbigdawg in an archive search https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=381442
Scuff with a 3M RED grade scotch pad. You DO NOT use Wax and Grease Remover on plastics/urethanes because this opens up the pores, instead use a plastic prep cleaner which you can get from your local autobody supply store.
First wash the parts with soap and water,
then use the cleaner,
then scuff,
use the cleaner again,
tack cloth it to get dust off,
use an adhesion promoter,
use a primer Sealer right before applying base color and clear.(make sure you use a flex additive in the primer sealer....its not neccesary to add it in the base or clear if you are using a Urathane Paint System)
Does anyone object to this method or have a better way of doing it? It sounds like he knows what he's talking about so as of now im gonna do it this way. If there are any other tips for putting on the WW kit please let me know. Mainly i want more advice on putting the sideskirts on do i need to take off all of the moldings? Thanks in advance

Don't forget adhesion promoter. Spray it on the bare bumper before you lay the paint on it. What good is flex additive when the paint doesn't stick to the bumper.
