Need to get new rubber this week, those look kinda cool. Already had T1S Toyo's not sure what to get.
a friend and I just recently got these tires and we are both very happy w/ them...much stickier street tires compared to the RE010's as well as other tires I have used.
They do have very good rain grip, which the 010's didn't have. I have size 215-45-16's and they were worth every (cheap) penny I spent on them, $89 each!

All of them preferred the Azenis to RE010, and none of them regretted any part of the decision.
The only caveat is that none of us yet have more than a couple hundred miles on the Azenis.

as far as I know, it's only a single compound. But I have noticed that for normal street driving they are like normal tires. Once they get some heat in them, they become really gummy (read: sticky). Just touching them w/ my fingers, I was able to feel a tackiness
yoshi - weird, but it works

This is actually the dilema i was facing. I am going to be purchasing rims and tires and I got stumped as to which tire to purchase. Initially, after quite a bit of research, I chose the Potenza RE730. Now this tire comes out and everyone is giving it good reviews but what i'm leary about is that it has not been out long enough, so these reviews only show how it performs in the early stages of its life.

my 215/40/16 (yes, a bit smaller) yokohama A520s weigh about 18lbs.
my entire wheel/tire combo (A520 and 16x7.5" K1) weighs in at 33lbs, so since the K1 weighs 15lbs, the tire must weigh 18lbs (duh).

where are you guys getting them from? i just checked tire rack and discount tire direct and neither have falken listed in the "search by brand" section.
Just spoke with someone at Falken and they said the 215-45-16 was 22.5 lbs. just to clarify.
I know the Toyo T-1S 205-45-16 are 18lbs each.

i can tell you guys from having the kumho 712s that the Falkens are much lighter. Don't know exactly how much though.
yoshi - who changes wheels alot

then the 16" falken must weight less than the 22.5lbs that they stated.

here's a link for the weights of the azenis tire:

I got my set at a warehouse in Miami, FL that doesn't deal w/ the public normally (they had them in stock and were willing to sell em) Plus I didn't have to pay shipping.
the only places online that I have seen that carries them are http://www.onlinetires.com and http://www.vulcantires.com
the way that I got contact info was by emailing Falken directly and asking for local dealers that carry the Azenis tire ONLY! there were only 2 in my area, both wholesalers/warehouses...I just happened to luck out!

wheres the wieghts on that page? I just called Falken and asked them how much they wieghed, then I called up Kumho and asked how much the 225-45-16 wieghed since thats what Yoshison had on his ITR.
I have to agree that I love these tire...I've beaten the crap out of the tires and they took it...I figure that they have close to 120 miles from Buttonwillow and 16 runs on a 40 second autocross course, 5 trips down the drag strip(not so good for drag racing, but I was to lazy to change the rims out)..plus the trip to Comptech and back(5 hour round trip) + the trip from NorCal to Buttonwillow and back + about another 1500 miles of driving around, I'd say that they are lasting fairly well, need to have them rotated though...

Lots of guys here run on semi slicks here at the race track. The falkens are popular because they are cheap, but for the hardcore people, they run on either Yokohama A032's or Bridgestones 540's. These 2 tyres are alot sticker compared to the Azenis.
How about a comparison between Yok AVS-I and the Azenis..... I loved the AVS-I for road racing, in my 205-50-15 size on stock R wheels. Time to put some good tires on my JDM 16's now for the street.

Yeah, I've not really heard them either, but usually I have my exhasut to drown out any road noise anyway, plus if I have my stereo on I can't hear any road noise...
