You know you can go to DMV, tell them the licence plate number, and they'll tell you their address.... Cost about $25 I think.

Where are you located, hope your not another N.Y. victim. Also a guy on Honda-Acura net just had his R stolen in NYC. You got lucky man, time to get a garage b/c I'm sure they will be back.

Did they get in the car by prying away the window and hitting the power door lock switch?

If so, disable those switches ASAP!

Fort Lee area is very bad for auto theft. As is most of dirty Jersey. But If I were you I wouldn't sleep until my car was indoors.

How do you disable the power door locks...or should you just push them inside the door?

To Disable Lock switch All you have to do it this. use a small flat-edge screw driver and pull back that little tab (size of a dime) that is right behind the door handle. under that is a screw that you need to remove. once that is done, the handle and black plastic ill come off and hang by some wires. Just unclip the white plug that is connected to the silver lock mechanism and re-instal. no need to buy the RS door handles. This way you can always re-install it.

Bastards pryed my window and pulled the lock mechanism on my GSR a few months ago and stole $1300 worth of stuff (insurance didn't do jack). I promptly installed tint/alarm and did the above procedure. Not only that, but I always put my baseball cap over my center console now, covering any stereo equipment that may or may not be there. Disabling Power door locks here i come!!!.. My 94 accord had the same thing happen. they bent the window back to get to the door lock and it worked without even breaking my window. Those windows can bend far!!

If you disable the power locks you should go get the LS door handle, unless a potential thief KNOWS there is no switch they will stil PRY out the door with something and mess up the roof, door etc. With the LS they don't even see the Easily spotable shiny silver door locks that Honda has been using for what 20 years now?

The connector that should be disconnected is the one that plugs directly into the power door lock switch. This does NOT disable the door locks (controlled by alarm and/or key), just the switch itself. Its prolly a good idea to remove the switch itself so the thieves wont even attempt to use it next time. Dont bother trying to get the RS door handles....they are still on back order.....thanks to this forum

wtf white wire you talking about? there's a 3 pin terminal that plugs into the back of the door bezel for the power lock switch, GRN/RED, GRN/WHT, and BLK/WHT for the driver side... just unplug the damn terminal.

and no, has no effect on keyless entry.
