Question about Z3 Fenders?
I'm going to buy some Z3 fenders for my 1988 Honda CRX Si. But from what I have heard is that I'm going to have to drill holes where the screws go to install them and it needs to be done buy a body shop. Is it true a body shop need to do it and do they need to drill holes?
i don't have them and i don't really think they look good unless you've got some sort of body kit to complement the fenders. anywho enough about that. I've never done it but i'd say if you have to put bolts through it you can probably just shave them down and use some body filler and smooth it out or weld and sand if you can weld. I would think there would be 2 layers of metal so you wouldn't have to go through the exterior where everyone sees. Either way its not a big deal if you know how to measure and drill. good luck with your funny fenders

and you say that because? what if he has damaged fenders & the Z3's are a cheaper replacement then stock?

Are you talking the fiberglass z3 style fenders for the rex's?
If so then like anything aftermarket,it needs a good body person to make them look good(line everything all up).I made the mistake and bought a pair a while back.Put them on and one is so out of whack, the body guy told me the only way to fix it was by breaking it and redoing it.They are really not worth the money, and now it's a little old, everyone has them.
for the record-mine are not on my car anymore.

I have Z3's on my car and I'm getting rid of them, cus they suck. they look ok but I have a problem with them getting stress cracks. to be honest I think that your stock fenders weigh just about the same and to me it's all about the weight

My stock fenders are really bent and I am getting a good price on them so that's how come I want to get them. If Z3 are out then what is in? Tell me what kinda fender I should get?
If you talk to your local body shop(s) or salvage yard(s) they can probably line you up with an aftermarket set of fenders for about $30 each from Tong Yang or Eagle. The last Accord I fixed (rearended a parked car at about 35 mph) I got the bumper skin for $90, the hood for $88, and each fender cost me $35. All were new and black primer.
imo id go stock but thats just me unless theres carbon fiber, i love that stuff even though if there were "good" cf ones theyd prolly weight in or about the same as the stock ones.
