Default all motor 2 liter combos still using gsr manifolds

This ? is for the serious racer ... what is the deal with sum all motor guys using the stock intake manifold ...even with there 2 liter setups.. I know that they are modified,. but is it still better than using say jg or skunk2 manifods ,, there are a lot of different **** on da market some that is crap. can some one who has knowledge answer this ? also let me know what manifolds you have personally made power from // thankz

I made 8-10hp using a Skunk2 manifold. As for the crappy stock GSR manifold...I don't know..as we all know..Ericks racing uses a modifed dual plane manifold. I don't think that Ericks racing would be running a crappy manifold if it did not work with there setup. So how bad can the manifold be ?! Running a Skunk2 or JG manifold might be an easier way to get some power but If I knew what they did to their manifold and it helped me gain more power on my setup, I would replace my Skunk2 manifold for my old dual stage manifold any day.

You also have to remember that the Skunk2 manfiold is based off the ITR manifold which also based on the B16 head not the B18C head. The dual stage manifold was specifically designed for the B18C head, and so it does not surprise me that the modifed dual stage manifold could possible out perform a skunk2 manifold on a B18C head. As for the JG, I don't know, but hopefully someone could shead some light the JG manifold.

I believe Alaniz will modify your stock GS-R manifold to the configuration used by ERE. Price isn't cheap though, something like $750!!! There's a lot of work involved.

Interesting, I will be looking into that as well. Especially if its 180 retail, hell, that less than the OEM one cost me.
