I went to both... The problem is they are not a flat profile.. The bottom is round and the top has 2 perpendicular appandages from it.
Otherwise its not a flat top.. Its that rollercoaster type look

Get the professional grade lawn edging if you are going this route....it's about twice as thick as the standard stuff......about $20 will give you enough for 2 airdams.....may still need bracing though, if you want it functional.......

plastic sheeting. it rocks.
get at least .060 thick and pop rivet it to the front of the car.
I cant remember exactly what I bought, but search that sight and you'll find it. I think it was a 4" tall strip that was about 10 feet long.
Works much better than the garden splitter.

Yes, and from my perspective of not trying to build my own at any point and just going with the RRG unit, I wonder if the total dollars spent were really less in the short run. All you guys that built one and then ended up buying a unit, if you added the time and energy and little bitty parts - which was cheaper (especially on the time part)?

Valley View Professional or Black Diamond is the good lawn edging- a bit stronger than the other stuff. I know Home Depot in WI carries it and most should. Otherwise, try a landscaping/garden store.
You could also get some sheet plastic- perhaps High Density Polyethelene or ABS which comes in sheet form in varying thickness and is somewhat flexible, depending on the thickness.
