Clutch Cable too tight?
I know this might be a dumb question... But anyways, I have a clutch cable that might be binding. Ive tried testing it by disengaging the cable from the tranny and pushing on the pedel. Feels like any other clutch ive drivin. But when its hooked up it feels like im pushing 50 lbs. Is this a Cable problem or a problem inside the tranny, Also The guy i bought it from sold it to me becasue of this and didnt want to deal with it. Thats how i got it for dirt cheap. Anyways He got it from a salvage yard and the guy there said it might have a aftermarket performance clutch assembly in there. My question is does anybody have a aftermarket performance clutch tranny and have a harder clutch to push everytime or is this guy full of **** and i just need to replace the clutch cable. Please help I have one leg that can kill a man becasue of this problem. thanks
Welcome to the world of cable clutches
When I put in my ACT clutch it was even harder to press...maybe you have an aftermarket clutch in there.

Your cable may be binding.... Have a friend push off and on the clutch, and look at the clutch lever on the tranny. If it goes up and down while he is pumping the clutch, then your clutch or pressure plate is jacked, or maybe even your throw out bearing.
If everything works fine, disconnect the cable, and pull the clutch lever up by hand. It should have some resistance, but it shouldn't be hard to pull up. If it is dang hard, then you may want to take a look at the clutch assembly....
